I was out and about yesterday (more of which over the weekend) and one of the events I attended was somewhat boldly billed as a ‘laundry revolution’! Eager to see what this might be (a man/woman to do my washing would be my definition of a laundry revolution) I arrived at the Method launch with pretty high expectations.
Of course, it wasn’t my own personal Widow Twankey for my laundry room, it was something much more interesting – a new, patent-pending take on washing liquid. Essentially (here’s the science bit) the clever guys at Method have turned the detergent molecules inside out so that they attract the dirt in clothes more efficiently producing, as a result, an 8x concentrated detergent that’s tough on stains but not on your Stella (McCartney, that is). Kindly explained to me in words of one syllable by Method founder Adam Lowry even I can see how messing with molecules helps you to use less detergent to get the same effect. It’s good for us and for the environment, something that’s close to Method’s heart.
The bottles are brilliantly designed too! Small enough to hold in one hand with a clever pump action that means there’s less danger of you spilling detergent all down the side of the bottle as you try to pour it into the lid. Retailing at £5.99 for a 25 wash bottle, I think it’s well worth a try.
